Coyote Springs Golf Club was designed by the Golden Bear, Jack Nicklaus. Right there you could stop reading this description and know this Mesquite Golf Region course is worth the play. And you would be correct.
Coyote Springs debuted in 2009 and immediately was included on the “best new courses” lists of several major golf publications. The praise was profuse, to say the least. Coyote Springs was ranked the #2 best new golf course in 2009 by Golf Digest and #3 by Golf Magazine on their respective "Best New Courses You Can Play" list in 2008. In 2010, Golfweek included the course on its list of Top 100 Residential courses. The course is just one of many Nicklaus golf courses to earn such accolades and most assuredly belongs among his best. Some venture to say it is his best desert design.
“No words arranged by me can paint the epic sweep and isolation of The Chase (Coyote Springs Golf Club)," is how Sports Illustrated writer Gary Van Sickle has described it. "It’s a daily fee golf course that feels like your own private desert. This is more than just a golf course; it’s a golf experience.”
From the official description: The Coyote Springs setting has been characterized as Nature's Cradle -- a magnificent valley surrounded by majestic mountains and peaks on all four sides. To the north, south and east respectively, are the Delamar Mountains, the Arrow Mountains and Meadow Valley Mountains, each rising to an average elevation of 5,000 feet. And to the west, the Sheep Range, which reaches 9,000 feet into the sky, is snow-capped during the winter months and provides an amazing backdrop for peak season golfers.
