May 26, 2009--Jamie "The Silencer" Sadlowski is the defending champion of the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship annually held in Mesquite, Nevada, a city located about 77 miles north of Las Vegas and home to 6 golf courses. And recently Sadlowski was showing off his 400-yard drives on the driving range of the PGA Tour's HP Byron Nelson Championship. The RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship hits Mesquite October 25-30, 2009. Read on to view the video from Texas.
Sadlowski amazed PGA Tour players Kevin Na and Chris Riley, who both live in Las Vegas, by booming drives on the practice tee before moving to the 435-yard, par 18th hole. Most PGA Tour players, during the tournament, play it easily as a par 4, hitting in wedges or short irons to the green that is guarded by bunkers and water. But Sadlowski, watched closely by Long Drivers of America Founder Art Sellinger, boomed a drive that traveled more than 400 yards, landing just in front of the green. The Mesquite area is home to six championship Mesquite golf courses, seven when the new Jack Nicklaus-designed Chase at PGA Golf Club, Coyote Springs, located a few miles from Mesquite proper, is included.
